lock & mori

A Teenage Sherlock Holmes? Yes, please!

Heather’s agent, Laurie McLean, wrote a lovely blog post detailing her experiences in securing such an unprecedented publishing deal for Heather, in addition to explaining why she’s so excited about the upcoming series.

Today I announced a humongous six-figure deal for a debut YA author, one Heather W. Petty. Follow her on twitter, folks, @heatherwpetty, because she’s achieved lift off and will be rocketing to fame, of that I have no doubt.

Now the only hard part is waiting until 2015, because that’s when this amazing mystery/adventure is going to debut. In the meantime, say howdy to Heather and keep LOCK & MORI on your TBR pile. Trust me. You’ll love it.

Please check out the full post here; it’s definitely worth the read!

Publishers Weekly: Christian Trimmer at Simon & Schuster’s Books for Young Readers bought world rights to debut author Heather Petty’s LOCK & MORI, a modern-day Sherlock Holmes origin story, in a three-book, six-figure pre-empt. The young adult trilogy is told from the perspective of 16-year-old Miss James “Mori” Moriarty, who, in looking for an escape from her recent past and spiraling home life, takes classmate Sherlock up on his challenge to solve a murder mystery in Regent’s Park. Laurie McLean of Fuse Literary brokered the deal. Dramatic rights will be handled by Brandy Rivers of ICM Partners. (source)
